Ruining Days is about moments of anger that seem to suddenly materialize. I'm not a very angry person, but the rare time that I do get angry is not a very pleasant thing to witness. I really try to keep my cool, but once every 174 days I let off a bit of steam.
So since anger is generally associated with heavy, Nine Inch Nails type music, I decided to go the complete opposite way (for no reason other than the possibility of a fan smiling). The song is kind of an old 60's country song, which is one of my favorite genres to write.
I originally didn't intend to write this song for the album, but I sat down one night and recorded the super high, vinyl sounding guitar and wanted to use it.
